Daddy had to come home from work to pick up his laptop. When he tried to leave again he had two little rug rats hanging on his legs begging him to stay. They dramatically yell out, "Take me with yooooooooooooooou!" Sometimes I feel like doing the same thing. "Please Jordan, take me with you! Don't leave me here with these crazy kids. Help me, PLEASE!" Some days I fight the urge to yell out the same thing to the mailman, or anyone randomly passing my prison...I mean house! Ha, Ha! Have a crazy day~

Sliced Cheese!
Thanks to a very wonderful sister I have now discovered that you can take a block of cheese to the deli counter and ask them to slice it for you for free! Yea! They just put the bar code back on the container that they put it in for you! How wonderful is that!? You get sliced cheese for the price of a block of cheese! Thought I'd share the joy! Happy cheese buying!

December 3, 2007

I started this blog with my six tag facts and then uploaded pictures. I figured I could cut and paste things where I wanted them, but it turns out I'm not that talented. So just pretend that this post is in some sort of order. Now let the pictures begin...

We FINALLY had a picture taken with the whole family! Hurray! Now if everyone was looking and smiling that would be even better! Beautiful Kinzlee.
Handsome Corbin.
Beautiful Adley.
Beautiful Brecklyn.

Adley and Brecklyn before church on Sunday. I could just kiss those cheeks all day! This is my Dad holding Breck on Thanksgiving. She had a belly ache and of course the only one who could calm her down was Grandpa! He is the master of banishing belly aches! She fell asleep like this. We love you Grandpa!
We spent Thanksgiving at my sister's house in Manti this year. I took my nieces and nephews outside one afternoon for some races. This is a picture of the three-legged race. It was hilarious. I attached a video below! That took forever so you better enjoy it!

Here's some runners taking their mark. This is pretty serious business for some as you can tell.

I have no idea why these pictures decided to turn when they were uploading, because they didn't start this way. Sorry..I am too tired to redo them. A little late, but still fun. Here's Adley...

and Brecklyn...
and Corbin and Kinzlee. This is a picture of the twins that the nurses in the NICU took. We recently went to the Jubilee of Trees here in St. George and Kinzlee said, "Mom look our babies are on this tree!" Funny thing...they were. It was so crazy.

I have been asked by several people where I got the background for my blog. I wish I could tell you, but I honestly have no idea. I just found out that Jordan had set up a blog (even though he had never posted on it, and didn't remember he had it) and I stole it from him. Sorry.

Second matter of business, I have been tagged by several people whom I have been ignoring for some time now. So lets get that out of the way...

1. My favorite food is traveling tacos a.k.a seven layer dip. Jordan makes fun of me because its not really a favorite food, it's more like a favorite snack, but I would rather have that for dinner(if it is made right) than an expensive steak any day! Besides, our friend Andy's favorite food is "blue Gatorade", and mine isn't nearly as funny as that! Sorry Andy!

2. I secretly wish I was Rachel Ray! I am really not too interested in having her life, just her head full of recipes and general food knowledge. OK, having her money wouldn't be too terrible!

3. My husband and I share a strange passion for peeling skin! We love it when the other has a sunburn! I could peel skin for hours! It is such a great feeling when you get a really big piece! Gross I know, but much better than picking other things!

4. I absolutely detest unpacking. When I was young I used to just come home and stick my suitcase in my closet and forget about it until I really needed something inside. Now I have to unpack for a whole family and it really stinks!

5. Next to unpacking I also hate putting clean clothes away. I love to gather laundry...I love to start laundry...I LOVE to fold laundry, but then it usually sits on the couch for days. I hate to put laundry away.

6. I love to clean! You would never guess this by looking in my house, but I do have two infants right now! I don't know what it is but cleaning my toilet brings me great joy!

Here is a video of some of the kids in the three-legged race. Corbin raced with his cousin Jackson. As you can see he fell immediately and it was so funny to watch Jackson drag him along inch by inch. Corbin was laughing all the way. Such silly kids.

Long time no write...
My apologies to all who have been so painfully held in suspense as to the reveal of the secret decorator. I have been COMPLETELY overwhelmed with sick children. We had colds, then ear infections, then croup, then colds again with no breaks in between. I am currently running on zippo sleep and pretty much delusional most of the day. I do want to mention that my old camera was found (in my sisters diaper bag) Hurray! So I have lots of pictures to post...when I come across some time. OK...drum roll please. The purchase of the decorations for the kitchen was mine! I also arranged them and Jordan thought that they should be arranged differently. I am happy to say that now that I have the support from all of you...the items will stay as is! I am so glad you all liked them because it was my first big decorating purchase and I have no idea what the heck I am doing. I was just so thrilled to find these things...I LOVE THEM! Just in case you were wondering..they all came from Tai Pan which just opened in St. George! Yippee! I love you all. Pray for healthy children!

Calling all interior decorators... I want to preface this by letting you all know that Jordan has a very good eye for decorating and is very opinionated about how we decorate our home. So don't automatically assume that I would be the one behind the purchase. With that in mind, one of us purchased these items displayed now in our kitchen. The other one dissagrees on how they are arranged. Please give us your honest opinion to help us settle this dispute! After all votes are in I will let you know who bought the pieces and who arranged them. Thanks for your help and happy voting!
Corbin and Adley cuddling!
Kinzlee and Corbin went to get PJ's on and came back in each others pj's. They thought they were so funny. Those silly kids!
Kinzlee and Brecklyn cuddling! (Kinzlee still in Corb's pj's!)

Just an update...I will have it be known that we arrived at Stake conference twenty minutes early today! I know, I know...you are all so impressed. Twenty minutes!
It was actually quite hilarious because we thought we were very, VERY late and we were pleasantly surprised when we remembered that the time had changed! (Being that late you'd think we'd be put together, but the twins were both still in sleepers they had been wearing for two days and Kinzlee, we discovered, had no shoes! Oh well:) Good thing it was fall back and not Spring forward or we might have missed the whole thing! It was a broadcast from President Hinckley and Elder Holland also spoke. It was very inspiring and I am glad I didn't miss a minute.
No pictures again today...I am going to bed...all the kids are sleeping.

Happy Birthday Kinzlee! Kinzlee turned the big FIVE today! Here she is holding her new kitty. Adley has been really enjoying her "tummy time" the past few days! She still doesn't try to roll. How could you with cheeks as big as those. Is that a Jordan look or what?
I tried uploading a video and some more pictures, but they aren't coming up right...so this post is to be continued...sometime.

Funny thing...they don't look like life wreckers!

We need each other...
It is late and I should be packing, but I couldn't until I recorded a neat thing that happened to me today. I have been having a difficult week with Jordan gone so much and the babies being up at night. This morning I got a call from an amazing sister in my ward who said she had been thinking about me all week and she wanted to know if I would like a free babysitter tonight so Jordan and I could go out. I couldn't believe it. That was exactly what I needed. I was humbled by not only her willingness to serve but by her being so in tune and responding to a prompting. What a great example to me. Needless to say I had a fabulous date with that gorgeous man I vaguely remember as my husband and am feeling a new zest for life. It is just a great reminder that God does care about the little things in our lives. I hope this woman inspires you to all to reach out to someone...it has definitely inspired me. Thank you Felisa!

To be a Mother...

I really need to stop this. I am staying up too late to check on people's blogs and write on my own...it is like an escape from my prison cell for a few minutes a day. OK, prison cell is a bit much, but I am sitting here staring at a kitchen that is a disaster and instead of cleaning it up I continue blogging. I am nuts. BUT...I was inspired by Elder Eyring's talk(which I watched twice...I love DVR) and I am trying to remember to record evidence of God's hand in my life so I can feel closer to Him. Today was a hard day, and I was very overwhelmed. Then Jordan came home very overwhelmed and after a quick dinner and family night he had to head back to work to meet some deadlines. I decided to leave my mess, load my kids in the car and just go...somewhere...anywhere. So we went to Khols. We walked around for almost two hours while the babies slept and the kids coveted toy after toy. It was the longest stretch the babies have slept today and I know that was a blessing. After, we got ice cream and drove to Dad's work to eat it with him. By the time we got home it was an hour past the kids bedtime, both babies were screaming and no, Jordan was not with me. As I was bringing everyone in I dropped my purse and the contents spilled all over the kitchen floor. It was just one of those things that is not a big deal at all except when it happens at just that moment. I left it and jumped right in to feeding babies and putting kids to bed. After the babies were finally fed and in bed, and the older kids were brushing teeth I decided to go deal with the purse. I got to the kitchen to find my purse contents put neatly back into my purse and it was zipped shut and put on the counter. I almost started to cry. When I asked the kids who had done this for me, Corbin answered, "I did Mom." What a blessing to have been entrusted with such a boy. What a blessing each of our children are. What an honor it is to be a mother. Even with all the chaos, I am so happy for the opportunity God has given me to be a mother. I love it!

Here's hoping that I am not the only one who has a problem getting to church on time. Today we were only a few minutes late, but as soon as we walked in the door Jordan went one way with Kinz, Corb, and Brecklyn and I headed straight for the mother's room with Adley. She was still in her pj's and had not been fed yet. Hey...I figure if I can make it to church with one baby dressed and fed, that is as much as most people are expected to accomplish. I spend a lot of time every Sunday in the mothers room. A few weeks ago I was feeding Brecklyn when another mom walked in. We talked for a minute and then I was done and left. Just moments later I returned with Adley and sat down to nurse again. She looked at me and said, "She is going to eat again?" I laughed and said, "Same dress, different baby."

Tuesday, October 09, 2007

I just got all four kids to bed and sat down and started laughing at what someone outside looking in must think of my crazy life. Jordan had to go back to the office tonight, so I was solo. Kinz luckily got into her own pj's, but Corb needed help...one handed help as I was holding a fussing Brecklyn. Adley was still strapped into her carseat and luckily was content. I promised the kids a couple of books, so I was bouncing Breck and reading but she was not having it. While still reading I put her in her swing with a bink and before sitting back down Adley started in on the howling. I grabbed Adley on the way back to the chair and continued the book. When done with the book I started nursing Adley and tucked the kids in their beds...threatening them with their lives if they got out. Brecklyn started to cry again and so, while still nursing Adley, I pick up Breck and sit down to latch her on too. At night I nurse and also give a half of a bottle so that I can still be fortifying Breck's bottles...SO, Adley was done nursing but still crying for her bottle and I leave her on the couch crying while I am still nursing Breck I walk to the kitchen and prepare a bottle. This is an amazing talent considering I am one handed! Then I sit on the couch and while nursing Breck start to feed Adley her bottle. Then Adley is done with that but screaming for more (must be a growth spurt) and Breck is done nursing and screaming for a bottle. I leave both babies this time and make two bottles which I hurry back with. Now I am feeding both babies bottles. Both finish and both want MORE. Gosh Adley...slow down or Breck will never catch up! So I make two MORE bottles and go through that all again. They are both finally full, but fussing with burps.(It's amazing how only a mom knows the difference between an 'I'm still hungry cry' or an 'I need to be burped cry'). So I am proping up Adley with one hand and holding Breck over my shoulder with the other and finally get a burp from them both. I set them back in the chair and they both smile at me perfectly content. Both then get diaper changes and are wrapped burritto style and put into bed. I forgot to mention I had to put older kids back in bed twice during all of this. Now, after putting binkies in three times each they have finally gone to sleep. The best part about all of this was that I actually thought tonight was relatively easy. I guess it is all how you look at it. My bed is calling...

Brecklyn left and Adley right. They are now three months old! I can hardly believe how they have grown. They are both smiling and Breck can roll fron front to back. Adley isn't even trying to roll. She could care less.
Just relaxing with Aunt Jill. We spent a week in Layon visiting Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins and just got loved on the entire week. We miss you all. Lots of love to everyone
Corbin got a 'big boy' bike for is third birthday! I can't believe my baby boy is THREE!
Garn kiddos! Kinz and Corb are so sweet with the babies. They love to talk to them and make them smile. They are also my best bink-putter-inners!
Kinzlee on her new bike!
Whoa-baby! Look at that hot dude surf the waves! Jordan was testing out his surfing skills at that new fun center in Ogden. He took some pretty crazy falls, but for a first timer he looked good to me! He is going to kill me for posting this picture...so if you see it disappear in a few days you'll know why. But if I disappear...call the cops!
Visiting Grandmas house! She helped us get the twins to sleep through the night! Adley still struggles, but Breck is doing great!
Brecklyn trying to eat Adley

Kinzlee and Corbin on the 'bed-time-train'. This is how they get put to bed every night. I don't know what will happen when the twins are old enough to want on as well. I guess the 'train' will have to go back and forth a few times.
They are getting chubby! This is a picture of Kinzlee on a tree swing at duck creek. We went camping there for a family reunion. I was so proud of her for going on this swing by herself. It went really high and she wasn't even scared.

I know it has been a while since the last post, and I have been hounded by many of you to post more pictures, so here they are. Mind you it is 12:30 in the morning and I am sacrificing sleep for this! I must love you all! I really enjoyed reading the comments from all of you. Thank you so much!

Adley and Brecklyn's first bath at home. I decided to bathe them together. They loved it!

Kinzlee and Corbin love to put dolls and toys in the crib with the girls. They think they need toys to play with. I came in one day and found all these dolls and some blocks in the crib. Kinzlee and Corb have also been really good to help mom give the babies bottles. They both have to have two fortified bottles a day, so extra hands are helpful.

Adley and Brecklyn come home!
Such sweet sisters
